Why People Love It
A unique activity in the Punta Cana area. You get to be in close proximity with adorable squirrel monkeys that play around you and eat from fruit bowls in your hands. This is an all time favourite among families with young children because the monkeys are really gentle and friendly even though they are free in their natural environment. In addition, during our Monkeyland tour, you stop at a traditional house were you also get to learn about the local culture and get to see how is life outside the resort area.

Description
We begin the tour with a visit to a typical country house to mingle with Dominicans and learn how to live off the land and their organic products. The next 45 minutes are occupied by a guided tour that allows you to interact in close proximity to our beautiful and friendly squirrel monkeys. These charming and intelligent monkeys have been brought together by a Canadian couple with 35 years of experience working with animals, including 12 years at the Toronto Zoo teaching monkeys to trust and enjoy the company of humans. The monkeys are completely accustomed to human contact. They come down from the trees to sit on your shoulder and eat from your hands. Little monkeys love to pose for the cameras and take selfies! This tour is based on 5 acres of a beautiful piece of land that monkeys have made their home.
Itinerary
09:00-09:45 Arrival to typical countryside house, where the tour guides give an explanation of the coffee, cacao, and different fruits.
9:45-10:00 Chance to purchase local products.
10:00-10:15 Drive to MonkeyLand
10:15-10:30 Walk through the botanical trail in the company of a guide identifying a variety of plants.
10:30-10:45 Welcome from the monkey trainers. Receive information about the activity. Bathroom break.
10:45-11:30 Close encounter with the squirrel monkeys, feeding and observing them in their natural habitat.
11:30-11:45 Free time to relax or to shop in our MonkeyLand souvenir store.
12:45 Approximate arrival back to hotels.
Meeting Location
We can pick you up from your hotel in the Punta Cana/Bavaro area and at all Capa Cana hotels. Additional fees may apply for hotels further away. Please note that the “start time” of this tour is actually the earliest pickup time. Your tour will start later than the time you book.
